Browning, the rifle/shotgun manufacturer, also makes state-of-the-art bows. You’ll find everything you need for the hunt right here—a large selection of bows and all the accessories. FITA Home Page

FITA, the International Archery Federation, with headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, is the recognized world governing body for the sport of target and field archery. Here you’ll find official reports of plans for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, newsletters from participating countries, and lots of official news about the sport of archery. Find out about upcoming archery events, or register as a member of FITA. You can view the page in either English or French, and order videos of archery competition at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Idaho Archery

The best feature of this site is its archive of stories from bowhunters. If you’re wondering what the allure is that causes someone to drive sometimes hundreds of miles into the wilderness and then walk more miles, all before the break of day, check out these stories from hunters in the field. You’ll find the usual pictures of hunters with their prey with the addition of the events that led up to the kill and information about the exact equipment used. There’s much more at this site, including deer and elk forecasts, upcoming competitions, and links to other pages, but the real-life stories are the best.

Here you can learn about the sport of field archery in England. There’s news of upcoming shoots, information about official organizations, and links to other archery pages. Be sure to visit the “Fun and Entertainment” section; this is actually a primer in archery, complete with illustrations, where you can learn what to expect at a shoot, what you should wear, bring to eat, and more. There are definitions of field, target, and clout archery, along with illustrations of longbows, recurve, and more.

The US Archer

At this Web site you’ll find the entire contents of the US Archer magazine, a bimonthly publication. The current magazine and archived issues are here in their entirety, but there’s also the offer of free books with a subscription.
