IISA National Skate Patrol

Developed by the New York Road Skaters Association (NYRSA) and International Inline Skating Associa-tion (IISA), this organization’s goal is to encourage the safety and enjoyment of inline skating. The patrol helps skaters learn the basics. They’re also in touch with local police and park departments. Check out their site for details on how you can provide some help to new skaters.

Nobody likes to talk about it, but the fact is that inline skating has some dangers associated with it. This site is a good one for adults to read before considering taking up this sport. Plenty of statistics are provided on the kinds of injuries that occur—but also some good advice on the kind of protective gear to use to prevent those injuries. Check it out.
