Because of the longstanding trade embargo between the U.S. and Cuba, very little has been imported from Cuba to the States—and that includes Cuban music. The creator of this database records the music with a boom box from the shores of south Florida and then puts some of it online for the rest of us to enjoy. The site even includes lyrics (in Spanish and then English) for some of the songs.
